We are excited to share that StraitsX Personal Account signups are now open to users beyond Singapore and Indonesia.. Users across the globe will now have access to interact and transact in the world of stablecoins such as XSGD and USDC, across different DeFi protocols.
Users with a StraitsX Personal Account will be able to mint XSGD by funding SGD from a verified bank account into their StraitsX accounts, and convert XSGD back to SGD, directly from the StraitsX dashboard.
The StraitsX Personal Account dashboard has also made swapping between stablecoin currencies a breeze, with both XSGD and USDC currently supported for international users. The StraitsX Swap feature enables you to convert trusted stablecoins seamlessly across different global currencies without incurring any extra fees, ensuring a hassle-free experience. More stablecoin integrations are also being explored at the moment.
StraitsX Personal Account holders will also be able to transfer in XSGD or USDC from verified WalletConnect or MetaMask blockchain addresses, with incoming blockchain transactions automatically reflected in your StraitsX account balance. Vice versa, outgoing blockchain transactions of XSGD or USDC will enable users quicker access to transacting in XSGD or USDC across different supported DeFi protocols.

XSGD is one of the world’s largest non-USD stablecoin. Each XSGD is backed by one Singapore Dollar in cash and SGD-denominated assets held in segregated accounts in a Singapore bank and/or regulated financial institutions. XSGD will always be redeemable 1:1 for SGD on the StraitsX platform. StraitsX currently supports both ERC-20 and ZRC-2 token standards for XSGD on the Ethereum, Polygon, and ZiIliqa blockchain networks.
The StraitsX platform also supports USDC transactions. USDC is issued by Circle, and is 100% backed by cash and short-dated U.S. treasuries so that it is always redeemable 1:1 for U.S dollars. StraitsX currently supports Ethereum (ERC-20) network transfers of USDC at the moment, with more network integrations coming soon.
